About mid-September, thousands of tractors, trucks, and horse drawn carriages rumble and roll into Elnora, Indiana, for the White River Valley Antique Show held at the Daviess County Fairgrounds.
In addition to the parade of tractors and trucks, the Antique Show offers steam engines, a sawmill, horse demonstrations, threshing demonstrations, a flea market, and tons of delicious food. Each year, I make sure I get homemade ice cream and persimmon pudding. Buffalo burgers, BBQ, pork rinds, apple butter, and kettle corn are just a few more items hungry patrons savor at the event.
Children from area schools and homeschoolers have the opportunity to have class in an old fashioned school house and learn about the trades of yesteryear through various demonstrations. Old and young have enjoyed the event for over 30 years. So if you’re in the area on September 8-11, 2016, join over 17,000 visitors who enjoy the White River Valley Antique Show.
