Monday Musings: George Harrison, a musical gardener

Hello, adventurers!

As you’ve probably guessed, I love flowers.

Planting them.

Taking photos of them.

Smelling them….Smelling again.

Anyway, I thought I’d write a bit about one of my favorite musicians who loved flowers as much as I do, George Harrison.

I was 13 when the former member of The Beatles passed away. He was always my favorite Beatle. The intensity of his gaze. The sincerity of his music. I could just tell he was a private person who had a lot of ideas spinning around in his mind.

He enjoyed gardening.

Plus, he had an affinity for garden gnomes.

He seemed to find solace and happiness in the garden more than anywhere else. His efforts in restoring Friar Park gardens are a testament to his love for nature.

The promo film for Harrison’s song Crackerbox Palace gives us a peek into his home and the grounds of Friar Park. Directed by Eric Idle, the music video will delight fans of Monty Python and of whimsy alike.

Happy Trails and Happy Gardening! 🙂
